Getting to Angers

90 minutes from Paris with 117 cities accessible in a one-day round trip: Angers is a crossroad in the heart of the Loire Valley.

Angers by air

Nantes Atlantique airport: transfer to Nantes railway station by shuttle (20 minutes) + 40 minutes by direct TGV. Please refer to the Destinéo Web site for additional information on airport shuttles. In the “Timetables” thumbnail, choose “TAN (Nantes Métropole)” then “NA (Nantes Atlantique – Commerce)”; the stop is “Gare SNCF Sud”.

Paris Charles-de-Gaulle airport: 2:30 by direct TGV from Charles-de-Gaulle 2 TGV railway station (inside Terminal 2). If your flight arrives at Terminal 1 or Terminal 3, you can take the free-of-charge CDGVAL automatic shuttle to Terminal 2.

If you have plenty of (too much?) time between the landing of your flight and the departure of the train, you may want to go to Paris Montparnasse instead and take a train to Angers from there. The most convenient means of transportation is “Le Bus Direct” line #4 (information and timetables here) which takes 1:10 to 1:20 and lets you discover Paris though the window of your coach.

Paris Orly airport:  1:30 by direct TGV from Massy TGV railway station (close to Orly) or by direct TGV from Paris Montparnasse railway station.

The connection from Orly to Massy can be achieved:

  • by taxi (20 minutes): ask the driver for Massy TGV railway station (not Massy-Palaiseau)
  • by automatic metro (Orlyval) + RER B to Saint-Rémy-les-Chevreuse (25-30 minutes): get off at Massy-Palaiseau station and walk to Massy TGV railway station (2 minutes)

Additional information and timetables are available from the RATP Web site.

The most convenient connection from Orly airport to Paris Montparnasse is “Le Bus Direct” line #1 (about 30-35 minutes). Additional information and timetables are available here.
